Gloss Black Rims, Done Right
Deep, mirror-finish gloss black powder coating — oven cured at 400°F so it won't peel, chip or fade. 24-hour turnaround at our 360 Lynn Ave shop in North Vancouver.
Why powder, not paint
Wet paint chips on the first stone, peels around the lip after a winter of brake dust, and dulls under UV. Oven-cured powder fuses to bare alloy as a single thick, hard layer — it can't peel because it's chemically bonded, not glued. Gloss-black powder keeps its depth and reflectivity for years.
Three shades of black
- Gloss black — deepest, most reflective. Reads almost wet under sunlight.
- Satin black — modern, low-glare, the OEM-look on most M-series and AMG wheels.
- Matte black — stealth, hides micro-scratches, popular on lifted trucks and SUVs.

Frequently asked — gloss black rims
How much to powder coat rims gloss black?
Most sets of 4 wheels run $400–$700 for a gloss-black single-stage powder coat. Larger 21"+ wheels and multi-piece forged sets are at the upper end. Curb rash repair is included on light damage.
How long do gloss black powder-coated rims last?
Oven-cured powder is up to 10× harder than wet paint. With normal driving, the finish lasts the life of the wheel — no peeling, no fading from UV.
Can you do satin black or matte black instead?
Yes — satin black and matte black are both popular options. Matte hides micro-scratches best; gloss looks deepest from a distance; satin is the middle ground most BMW and Audi owners pick.
Will gloss black look good on my car?
On almost any color, yes — but it looks especially sharp on white, silver, dark grey, navy and red cars. Send Yaz a photo of the car and we'll tell you honestly what finish will look best.
